It Took a Failed Interview to Discover My True Calling.
Years ago, after my apprenticeship in the silk workshops of Dior, I received a call for an immediate job interview.
I wasn't dressed appropriately, but they insisted it was fine.
I didn't get the job.
The feedback? I wasn't dressed for the part.
It was a painful but powerful lesson: your presentation is everything.
And even years later I applied again, and again I was turned down. They never forgot that very first impression of me turning up in jeans.
I've since learned this is even more true for the vision we hold for ourselves.
